John Ellsworth

Chief Financial Officer

John Ellsworth is Chief Financial Officer at Divcon, an independent mission-critical controls provider to the world’s largest data center operators. John joined Divcon in January 2026, where he leads the company’s financial strategy and systems modernization during a period of rapid growth. He brings more than 20 years of experience turning financial and operational complexity into disciplined, scalable performance. Since joining, he has established stronger processes and controls across billing, collections, cash management, and financial governance, building the operational foundation that a fast-scaling company needs to grow with confidence.

Known as a hands-on business partner as much as a finance leader, John has spent his career helping organizations strengthen their balance sheets, improve cash flow, and build the systems and teams needed to grow. Before joining Divcon, he founded The Bastion Group, a consulting practice where he served as an interim and strategic CFO to growing companies across construction, manufacturing, real estate, and distribution. In that role, he guided a national construction firm through a financial turnaround, rebuilding its finance organization, roughly halving the time it took to collect customer payments, and securing the funding needed to support continued expansion.

Early in his career, John spent more than two decades at SelecTransportation Resources, a large network of commercial truck dealerships, rising from Controller to Chief Financial Officer. There he helped scale the business from $100 million to $500 million in revenue, introduced modern financial systems and controls, and built high-performing finance and accounting teams. He also co-founded SelecSoftware, a technology startup that developed specialized business-management systems, and began his career in public accounting.

John is an active member of multiple national finance leadership organizations, including the CFO Leadership Council. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and executive panels, where he is known for translating complex financial concepts into clear, practical guidance.

John earned B.S. degrees in Finance and Accounting, and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama.
